Sam Sadler FCCA
Managing Director
Born and bred in Oxfordshire, Sam qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1994.
Following time spent with a national accountancy firm as an audit senior, Sam moved back to a local practice in 1996, in order to work more closely with owner-managed businesses and to utilise all of her skills. Sam launched Sadler Talbot in August 2003.
“I genuinely enjoy working with owner-managed businesses, whether sole traders or companies turning over £10 million. The accounting issues are often the same, the enjoyable part is becoming more involved in all aspects of a client’s business, whether that’s setting up systems, producing management information, tax planning or helping to devise business plans”.
Kevan Stirrat
Director
Kevan is an experienced Chartered Accountant with a wealth of knowledge and business acumen. His no nonsense approach is refreshing and easy to apply to your business world. His practical, hands on advise is highly sort after with demand coming from across all sectors and markets.
Kevan started his career in accounting by training in Bicester and now returns as a Director of Sadler Talbot. All clients and professional connections will now be able to benefit from his valuable insight.
Kevan lives locally with his family and has a keen interest in all sports, particularly golf and rugby.
Jan Martin ACCA MAAT
Manager
“I joined Sadler Talbot Limited in 2012 as a manager.
Originally from a banking background decided to re-train as an accountant and gained my Association of Accounting Technician qualification in 2007. I was then challenged to continue my studies and qualified as a Association of Chartered Certified Account in August 2011.
I enjoy a varied role looking after sole traders and Limited Company clients as well as completing the Audits.
Most of my spare time is spent with my husband, two grown up daughters and my horse Nemo who will always keep me busy! If I get any other spare time then I enjoy swimming, following Formula 1 and watching football.”
Jim Parkinson
Personal Tax Specialist
“I enjoy working closely with clients, getting to really understand how their business works and their hopes and aspirations. I joined Sadler Talbot because they have a wide range of different clients, from various industries and enjoy a close relationship with each of them. On a personal basis I am happy working in the friendly environment that a small local practice can provide.”
Jim has worked in accountancy for over 44 years predominantly within a practise environment but he has also spent several years in industry.
Originating from Lancashire and arriving in Oxfordshire via a few years in Cormwall Jim has a wealth of experience within the profession. He ran his own accountancy practise for over 25 years and during that time developed a very successful business. Believing in providing clients with a personal and practical approach to their accountancy and taxation issues. In recent years he has concentrated more on taxation matters and is now in charge of this department at Sadler Talbot.
Outside of work he is involved with the local village community and enjoys gardening, watching football and spending time with his grandchildren.
Selina Wells
Personal Assistant at Sadler Talbot
“My role as a personal assistant is varied and includes secretarial duties, management accounts, payroll and many other day-to-day tasks. I like to think that if any of the clients have a problem or a query, we are just a phone call away or even better they know they can come in to the office to discuss the problem with any one of our team”.
In her spare time, Selina enjoys a range of hobbies including reading, film & theatre, sewing and cooking. Top of the list though, is enjoying her role as grandparent.
Lisa Parsons
Accounts and Audit Senior
Destined to work with numbers; Lisa has worked in accounts since leaving school in 1989. An opportunity for further training led her to Sadler Talbot.
“I enjoy working for a small accountancy practice as I am able to deal with many different aspects of accountancy work”, Lisa explains.
As mother to a baby daughter, time away from work is spent enjoying family life.
Emma Jones
Trainee Accountant
Having joined Sadler Talbot in 2012, Emma is our Trainee Accountant. She is studying towards her ACCA qualification. She is involved with the preparation of statutory accounts for a wide variety of businesses, including sole traders.
"I enjoy working as part of a small team as it allows me to gain experience as they have a wide variety of clients in a number of different industries."
In her spare time she enjoys travel, socialising and walking her two dogs.
Liz Carver BA(Hons)
Having started my career in Personnel with the BBC, I moved into Payroll when I returned to work following a break to bring up my children. I now have over 12 years’ experience of dealing with payrolls ranging from sole employees to large weekly and monthly payrolls and I enjoy the variety and in-depth knowledge that provides. I enjoy being part of a small team where everyone has an important role to play.
I am a keen artist, love spending time in London visiting my now grown-up children and enjoy walking my dog either at home or up In Northumberland where my husband’s roots lie.
